I just got my dorm assignment and it turns out I’m on East Campus in Hicks Hall. Any dorm stereotypes I need to know about this area, good or bad?
East is a little further away from the traditional freshman dorms such as North, Northwest, and Towers. Typically East is labelled as the side of campus or residence area for “hipsters” because of the vegetarian friendly dining hall at Whitney. Personally, I think the East dining hall has its own feel to it and the food can be really good depending on the day. The dorm can get a bad rep but mostly by people who have never lived there. Most people i know that lived in East enjoyed living there.
Thanks I know a lot of people living there and I think I’ll enjoy my self! Sometimes dorm stereotypes are overplayed
@KezM97 If you know a lot of people living there then you will certainty be in good company! East definitely has a homely feel about it that is unique compared to most of the other dorms. You are bound to meet new people around your dorm and in class as well. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, you will be busy with classes, clubs, and social events.
