What are K dorms like? I am more of a private person and am nervous about dorm life next year. Are the freshman dorms good? What are the bathrooms like, are they single sex, coed? Any information would be great!

Well, as of this year, they put all freshman together in the same dorms. So, assuming they keep it like this next year, you will either be in Harmon, Hoben, and Trowbridge. Hoben and Trowbridge are both all freshman, and Harmon is a mix of freshman and upperclassmen.

Most freshman have a double room, with community bathrooms. Some people have a double room that shares a bathroom with a double room next to it, and some people have quads. And there are a few singles, but not many.

I think the dorms are good. The rooms are all fairly big compared to other colleges I've visited.

All bathrooms are single sex.
I'm living in a quad this year, which sounds like something you'd really like, because we have a common area and two bedrooms, so we can use the bedroom mainly for sleeping and don't have to worry about different sleep schedules.

Son lived in Harmon last year and had a two-room double for himself and a roommate; one room a lounge, the other a bedroom. They shared a semi-private bath with the two-room double across the hall so just four guys for their bathroom. Housekeeping cleans all bathrooms, community and semi-private.

This year, he's in DeWaters in a large double, having a shared semi-private bath with the double next door. All four are friends and signed up together so they could do a non-traditional room arrangement. They lofted the beds and put them all in one room, desks underneath (although they always go to the library to study), and set up the other room as their lounge with sofa, chairs, TV, etc.

Thanks for all the information!!!
