dorms?

Which dorms should I sign up for for next year? I'm told that AMRs are much worse, but if you choose the nicer ones (a&b, wolman, etc.) it's very hard to make as many friends as you'd make in AMRs. Any info will help. Thanks.

If you're moderately outgoing, it shouldn't be a problem to make friends in the nicer dorms. Wolman is pretty big, and there are at least 150 people in both Building A and Building B. The AMRs are so big that there's no way you'd be friends with everyone living there anyway.

Keep in mind that the AMRs are quite a bit less expensive than the other options, unless you go for a permanent triple.

How do you get to chose dorms?

they send you a housing contract in the mail, and you fill out the freshman questionnaire online. the online form takes your preferences down, but the housing process is a lottery based on 3 sorts. 1 for ED, 1 for RD who turn in contracts in on time, and 1 for everyone who turns it in late. you tell them your preferences, and hope for the best

Whens the deadline for the "on time" lottery? I sent in my deposit/acceptance a week ago, so I'm waiting for housing information to arrive soon.

I heard from someone that the deadline for housing apps was May 27th. The application itself should come a few weeks after you send in your deposit.

when you get the housing packet, it will have all the info in it..may 27th is the date on the housing contract for everyone, but for ED it was april 29th
