Did anyone love their dorm freshmen year? What made it so awesome?

Also, did any of you have a bad dorm experience? What would you suggest for incoming freshmen? Thanks!

Bump for an excellent question, as D is likely headed to SCU this fall (and couldn’t be happier about it).

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Same - Son is considering SCU too.

Anyone have any clue about Computer Engineering Dept Faculty??

Thanks -

DD lived in McLaughlin (I think that was the name) for two years. It is practically next to the Benson Center. Rooms are a nice size with good size closets. She liked it and the RLC theme too. The convenience was terrific.

I’m in MP (Dunne Hall) and I love it. It can be a little loud sometimes, but my friends in Casa Italiana and Loyola say that they wish their residence halls were a little more active sometimes. It’s close to Benson, borders the neighborhood, and it’s a hop and skip away from the Malley Fitness Center and the library. The mix of sophomores and freshman is another great quality of the hall – it took me a whole quarter to realize that, though. Dunne has the perfect balance as far as student life goes. It also doesn’t hurt to have a basement with a bunch of couches and a projector/DVD player. It’s cool in the heat, and a lot of kids study down there too.
