I was wondering if it would be possible to double major in comp. lit and biochem for pre-med. I know that these double major questions have been asked before, but I thought since a lot of the biochem requirements can take away the two - year requirements for math and science, and that some of the comp. lit classes can be taken away with prior knowledge of a language - would this be possible?

Or am I crazy like every other double major hopeful who goes to UChicago...

I don’t know too much, but you may very well be crazy.
I’m pretty sure the Biochemistry major is one of, if not the most, extensive majors as far as requirements go.

haha, thanks. I just read in the course catalog biochem = 19 credits, and comp lit = 13.

Scratch this idea… lol. I think I’m just gonna fulfill the premed requirements and major in comp. lit which I really want, and take the biochemistry classes that I am interested in.

Yeah, it is possible – though it would be difficult. You would be better off with Biology as the requirements for the major are Pre-Med (minus one quarter of Humanities, one quarter of Organic Chem, and one quarter of physics) plus a few electives (which I think you would be able to take in Biochemistry classes if you wanted, not sure on this though).
