I know that for psychology, you can't switch into it after transfer or double major in it. I also know that this does not apply to all majors. I'm hoping a well-informed user will confirm that biz econ is not one of those majors. Let's say I apply as a pre-psyc and get accepted. As long as I finish the prerequisites (prior or post transfer), meet the GPA requirements, and apply in the appropriate time, I can double major in biz econ. Is this correct? Thanks!

Not possible I believe. The Econ department is highly impacted. You can however try to do the major over summers. I don’t think the classes fill in the summer and they are also not major restricted I believe.

I’m Googling the heck out of this topic and I’m getting mixed responses. Most people say it’s impossible, but I’ve read one or two posts that say otherwise (very difficult, but not impossible) and it’s giving me hope. On assist.org, it specifically states that you cannot change your major to psych after transfer or double major in it, whereas for biz econ, it only states the former. I really hope it’s not true that it is impossible, because I completed most prerequisites for biz econ but opted to finish psych and apply for it instead because I thought I could petition to double major in biz econ. ****. =(

Can you elaborate on what it means to do the major over the summers? Thanks!

That means go rogue and just do the requirements without anyone permission. You got 3 summers. The one before you transfer and 2 when you transfer. Finish all the classes for the major in the summers?

This is just an idea lol. I don’t know if it is even doable.

I think that’d work… I’ve heard people doing the same thing with psych. Since at UCLA only psych 100A/B are capped for the major you can take them in summer session and then be able to take the other classes during the regular semester as electives.
