Is it possible to double major in MT and in Music Composition at CCM? And if so, would it be insanely hard to juggle?

I don’t have the definitive answer for you but I really doubt you can double major as a BFA in MT and a BM in Music Composition. Both those degree programs are not regular college majors. Regular college majors tend to be about 35% of your coursework and so regular majors can often be double majors. But a BFA program can be as much as 75% of your coursework (at CCM, I believe there are hardly any electives or liberal arts compared to some BFA in MT programs and so you have to check on the exact percentage of your curriculum that is required BFA courses) and a BM in Music is like that too and so if you combine them, the required courses for both degrees would add up to over 100% of your courses and not be possible.

As an aside, speaking from personal experience with my own daughter, and also some other MT performers I know, you can do a BFA in MT and also explore musical composition. My D just got a BFA in MT and she wrote her own musical and it was staged at school and will now be produced by a venue in NYC and there are other MT students at her school and at other BFA in MT programs who have also composed musicals. At my D’s school (Tisch), she has been in classes that dealt with composition (in ETW studio). One of her classmates in CAP21 switched into Steinhardt for Music Composition and is doing very well in that field writing musicals.
