Im currently a freshman at University of Oregon, planning to double major in International Studies and some sort of Business program(finance, economic, marketing).

I have background of fluency in Chinese and Japanese.

Not a huge nerd of math, thats why possibly towards marketing, advertisement, not hard core math related business

Anyone doing/did this double major? Landed a good career? Any international jobs? Internships?
Any advice on how I should be doing about this?

I graduated from UO in 1985 with a degree in Journalism/Advertising and a minor in English. My first job was in an ad agency, and then I moved to the client side of advertising and marketing working in high-tech in the Bay Area. I focused on global brand marketing issues, including spending 4 years in Europe on an international assignment. UO has an excellent business program, and coupled with International Studies degree I think you’d have lots of great opportunities. The main thing is to focus on studying something that interests you so you end up in a career that is fulfilling. As a freshman you still have time to explore which areas spark your passions the most, so don’t back yourself into a corner until you’ve had a chance to see all that UO has to offer. I was a music major my first year and a half.

UO also has an excellent career advising department that can help you explore career paths, internships, etc. Here’s the link:
