lol there u go tryin to act intellectual again…and no buddy i tell ppl how to get to their destination in ways many ppl would agree (for instance, there are many ppl who would agree with me that to get into med school u dont HAVE TO COME to ucla and ucla’s prestige doesn’t really help that much)…ive also warned ppl who might be ignorant (which is not a bad thing) that ucla isn’t going to guarantee them anything in life…and there are many ppl that would agree with me there too…including kids who’ve gotten into harvard, stanford, etc…

you on the other hand, always act like a smart a-s-s

There’s a difference between saying that you don’t have to come and saying that you shouldn’t come. The problem is that your opinion seems to be mostly just a function of your own negative experience. I don’t think it’s advisable to choose a school based on prospective GPA, as there are far too many factors to accurately predict it.

You deter everyone from UCLA or prestigious universities because you find them too difficult. You say “you shouldn’t come” and state your uneducated opinion as fact.

You simply hate UCLA because of your negative experiences and are ignorant to your own biases, which is probably why you find ignorance to not be a bad thing.

And no, not many people are going to agree with you to try and take the easy way out of everything to reach your goals. That’s entire horse****.

And lastly, I’m not trying to sound pompous. I’m speaking properly because it conveys my opinion better. You, on the other hand, can’t put a coherent thought together and think ellipses are periods.

lol oh my god dude u are such a pompous loser. and no i dont think they are too difficult, I think they are a waste of a young person’s energy. (i have above a 3.8 gpa). and lol u think ignorance is a bad thing, so i guess u think all babies are evil. ure an idiot if u think ignorance is always a bad thing, as ur comment suggests. only sometimes is it a bad thing. and yes i do think that students shouldn’t come. am i not entitled to my own opinion? I obviously don’t deter people from going to prestigious universities because they are too difficult. in fact, i’ve encouraged ppl to go to top universities such as harvard, duke, usc, because those schools offer MASSSIVE grade inflation…ive told ppl that ucla is the perfect place for prelaw**** and who said i was trying to take the easy way out of everything?? i encourage the safe way. and yes buddy there are plenty of ppl who agree with me, including professionals, so its entire horse s-h-i-t when u say not many ppl agree with me. There are ppl on both sides of the debate. I am one person on one side of the debate. You are a person on the other side of the debate, except ure acting like a d-o-u-che and trying to act intellectual. whatever i dont care. i dont care about u, i just care that the person who reads this thread sees that it is possible to go to harvard without coming to ucla, and that ucla truly does offer nothing special.

i realize that this thread has been severely sidelined, but ill reply to mnop444’s last post with the links:

Those links are essentially worthless. I mean, it does show to some minor degree that you can make it to a T1 school from “any undergrad school” but it does not rule out the fact that the name your undergrad plays a significant role in the process. You don’t have the exact breakdown of how many students are from prestigious schools v.s. lower ranked public schools. For example, out of a class of 100 students, it is very possible that 75 came from elite private/liberal arts schools, another 20 came from top public schools, and the last five came from no name schools. That tells you something very obvious: that name matters. Those no name schools you see on the list probably sent one or two students to harvard/yale…

if you seriously think that the name of the school doesn’t matter, i think you’re naive. I’ve been on several interviews at top graduate schools. there were very few public school intervewees with me (mostly from UCLA/Cal/Michigan). Most were from name brand schools like princeton, yale, harvard, stanford…It was actually really intimidating at first.

lol i doubt u would have that high of a gpa if u were taking my classes lol…and yea u idiot the babies example was to show u how stupid u are in thinking that ignorance is bad thing…get a life prick
