As a career, obviously in the title, I want to become a Biomedical Engineer. Or at least I think I do. I have always had a love for science and a love/obsession with math. I've decided that I would like to go into the medical field for research (and a practicing physician if I CAN as I am not sure if that happens or is possible. Biomedical Engineering is a new discovery for me that I fell in love with.)
Jumping into the future really quick, I want to get into a PhD and MD program, and I know these are competitive to get into. I have also heard that BMED is a better major for a Master's rather than a Bachelor's. I also don't think that the college I'm looking at offers Biomedical Engineering. They offer Biomedical - Technology Engineering though, I know that for sure. But that's not what I'm looking for.
My original plan was to double major in Biomedical Engineering and Chemistry. (As I am looking into the PhD and MD program and that makes me more competitive). But since I don't think the college I'm looking at offers that and since I've heard that BMED is weaker for a Bachelor's, I thought maybe, what about a different kind of engineering, and then go on for my Master's with Biomedical Engineering?
It'd be really great to get some advice from a BioMed major or anyone similar,as I'm a little lost right now.
Any insight is appreciated. :)

I’m interesting in the same thing. Depending on which concentration you wanna go in to, you should do a BS in the traditional engineering disciplines (Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical) with a BioMed minor/go on to get a BioMed MS. This is the path elite engineering schools like Cornell and Berkeley recommend in their curriculum, actually.
