Double Majoring

If I double major in Psychology and Speech Communications the core is exactly the same. The upper level classes are completely different (one is all Psych and the other is all Communications courses)

Will that add time onto my 4 years of undergrad?

Your school will have specific rules about this. Have you read the academic rules part of this situation? Dual degree maybe?

Check with your school. Also, go through all the courses you'll have to take, add up the credits, and see how many classes you'll have to take each term to graduate on time. You'll be able to tell then if it's doable.

Add up all of the credits and be sure that you'll be able to schedule in every class, because it can be difficult sometimes.

I doubled in Biology and Classics and was able to finish in 4. You just have to be very careful in your scheduling, and might need to take Summer school (I did one summer). Also, the caveat is you really don't get an opportunity to take "Fun" classes as you don't have time for electives.

I'm double majoring in Biology and Sociology while also doing liberal arts (so there's a few random fun classes) and I should be graduating on time w/o having to take summer courses. You just really have to plan ahead and assure that you will get all the classes you plan for.
