If you are in the Faculty of Arts, is it possible to double major at UBC in a subject in Arts and one in Science? Or is this only possible if you’re enrolled in the Faculty of Science?
Thank you!

It’s not possible either way, you’d be doing what’s called a dual degree to get majors in different faculties. They have a few additional requirements, regardless they take another term or two to complete. Then you end up with a BA+BSc.

What’s the difference between Dual Major and Double Major then ?

For the dual-degree, you would be receiving two separate degrees: Bachelor of Sciences and Bachelor of Arts. You could do a double-major, which would require you to sucessfully complete the requirements for two separate majors, but in the same faculty/ school. For instance, I am planning on doing a double-major in Biology and Psychology in Science. Hope this helps!

What kwang2010 said is correct. I’ve been in contact with an advisor and this is what they have told me. If you do a dual-degree, it would take 5 years to complete simply because of all the requirements you need to complete. A double major, on the other hand, would grant you one degree (instead of two), but you would be required to complete all requirements for both majors.

How long would it take if I get Alevel credits and remove around seven courses out of the way. Im sure ill be able to remove the following

UBC determines credit for other A Level examined subjects not listed, but with a grade of A or B, on a case-by-case basis.
