Double Majors

How do double majors work for transfer students?

Depending on the majors you want to take on, all you have to do it just take the classes that's required for both majors. Be sure to check with the system as well, since there's a limit on how many units you can have within the two years you'll be there. For example, I'm going to double major in UCD with art studio and economics. I transfered as an art studio major so i already had most of the prerequisites done for art studio in the 105 quarter units I'm transferring with. There's a non-negotiable 225 units cap in 2 years, but I will only need 180 units to graduate. I will need 48 units for the art studio major so that means I'll only need 27 units to graduate. However, some of my GE credits that transfered over satisfied 8 units for the econ major. The econ major requires a total of 64 units so that means I will need 56 units to complete the econ major. At the end I will need 29 additional units and that will bring me to 209 units, below the 225 limit. I will also have enough left over to take a writing class just in case I don't pass this writing requirement. But, that's for UCD and I'm not sure about the other campuses. It's best to talk to your a counselor or peer adviser.

just apply first for your major to transfer. focus on those classes. Once you transfer, i believe you can file a petition to have a second major if you have completed prereqs.

can you double in the same school in LA or B? e.g. school of engineering? my current school cant

while we're in CC and we already have plan to do double major, is it best to finish off all the prereq at CC if possible, we can still take lower division for the other major at that campus we transfer right?
