double or triple room?

i'm going to be a freshman in the fall and have the option of choosing either a double or a triple. what do you guys think the pros and cons are of having one vs the other?

Choose a double. You don’t want to end up in a 2 against 1 situation.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been in college (almost a decade - yikes!!), but I’d definitely prefer a double over a triple. While I never lived in a triple, the ones I saw were kind of split into two rooms - a sleeping room and a living room was the way most people set it up - but it still seemed like the roommates were tripping over each other. Not that the doubles were spacious by any means, but it seemed like you had slightly more personal space. (If one can have personal space in the dorms! )

I’d choose a double. Triples tend to get… cramped.

Define “triple”. 3 people in one room, or three people in two rooms? I would much rather have a triple with 3 people in 2 rooms, than the standard 2 people in 1 room setup. I had the standard setup, one of my friends had a triple with 3 people in two rooms, and that room was way better than mine.

Definitely double. Triples are pretty crammed and if you don’t like your roommate, at least it would only be one person rather than two to deal with.

deff define triple, i have a triple w/ one large living space with 3 beds, a bathroom and 2 LARGE closets

Def. a double, unless the money between the two would be hugely beneficial.

and that^ costs same as double with no bath

I’d personally rather share my room with 1 person rather than 2. The more people, the more conflicts.

Also, most colleges I’ve been to, do not have bathrooms attached to the triple.

I also didn’t mind sharing a bathroom with the rest of the floor once I got used to it.

idk, i lived in a triple and it was pretty much awesome. we actually had more space than the people in doubles.

It depends where you go to school. You could always apply for a double and end up in a forced triple.

Double, absolutely. Living with 1 other person will be hard enough in a cramped space…think about living with 2!

Definitely a double for all the reasons given so far.
