Hey,
I've officially decided on UF and am now filling out dorm forms. I'm certain I want a traditional-style hall and listed my hall preferences.
Another question is "room type" - I'm putting Double and Triple as my 1st and 2nd choices but am not sure which one to put for a 1st preference.

Triples are $200 cheaper a semester. I'm a social person and don't mind stuff like borrowing clothes, having music on, messes (as long as they aren't unhygenic or gross) etc. I'm a little bit worried that if I get a triple, the 2 roomates will become BFF"s and I'll be an annoying 3rd wheel, but if we get along, I find bigger groups to be more fun.
Should I pick double or triple? Did anyone have a triple, and how did it work?
Help ASAP would be great, since I'm in the process of doing this right now.

I’d go with a double. Why would you want twice the amount of sexiles, twice the amount of unwanted visitors coming in, and twice the risk of getting woken up late at night by your drunk roommate?

Seriously double. Having one less person in your room starting out will not have that huge of an effect on your social life. You’ll be glad of in the middle of the semester when it’s just easier only having to deal with one person’s sleeping schedule and whatnot. Just make friends with the people in your hall.

Lol oops…I was filling out the thing before I got any replies and I put “triple” for first and “double” for second.

I’m not too worried, though. Triples are bigger, so it won’t be like it’s crammed. And I’m pretty laid back with sexiles and other visitors, as long as the roomates provide the same courtesy for me when needed. And I have a stay up late and sleep in late schedule that is the stereotype of college freshmen. So I’m not worried, I’m more excited to go to college and live dorm life and be “on my own” ;)

Thanks for the input! And, now that I put down “triple”, did anyone HAVE a triple? Can you tell me any triple-anecdotes?

or, they could just not put me in one after all.

I was supposed to be in a triple, but it was a forced triple and one girl ended up dropping out before the semester even started, so it was just a double. I have a lot of friends in triples who really like it and I’m planning on tripling next year. It really just depends on your roommates and you and what they’re like, just like it would if you were in a double.

I’m an extrovert and laid back, like I said, as long as the roomates don’t take advantage of me I’m pretty open with what they do. So I’ll be fine, Ithink. I think it’ll be fun!!! :)
