Douglass College...

I've been having thoughts about it. I didn't enroll there, but I was just curious: if by any chance I wanted to enroll there during my sophomore year will it be too late????

Basically, can someone apply to Douglass College, starting their sophomore year, skipping out on Freshman year?

My parents (hell! even my dentist) were forcing me to enroll there, but for some reason I have never seen myself as a leader nor do I care too much for the whole female community bonding thing. Yeah, basically two inane reasons.

Thanks....well to anyone that replys :)

Not the big female bonding you think it is. My d only had three all girls seminars in the honors program, otherwise takes most classes on College Ave and lives in Highland Park across rte 27.

I thinkyou would be able to enroll in Douglass Residential College your sophomore year, but I'm not positive. I know the recruitment office is enthusiastic for women to join so I don't foresee a problem. I could try asking around though and getting back to you with a definite answer.

If you're considering it for your sophomore year, I think you should consider it again for your first-year. Although the deadlines may have passed, it may still be possible to enroll. I'd contact the recruitment office; they're all friendly. (732-932-9500 or visitdc@echo.rutgers.edu) As for the all-female community, it is, as Findmepete has mentioned, limited to the dorms and one women's studies class that you'll take in your first-year. The rest of your classes will be co-ed, as is everything else on campus, such as the library, student center, dining hall, and gym. Don't get me wrong though, Douglass is a community of intelligent, strong women, who may have not seen themselves as leaders upon entering, but would certainly consider themselves as such upon leaving.

If you have any more questions, do let me know! I may be a little slow on responding since I'm abroad this semester and busy with exams, but I'll try my best.

Take care!
