downloading in the library?

we have one hour on the library computers everyday, right?

can we download songs via rapidshare, 4shared, magaupload, mediafire, depositfiles?

I’ve never used the actual computers in the library, but if you bring in your own computer you are using your own allotted internet bandwidth. So, do with it whatever you would usually do with it. I am not sure how the actual library computers work as far as logging in or what bandwidth you are using, but I’d recommend against doing anything like that. Not because of the questionable legality of downloading music, but because I don’t think it’s designed for you to be doing large file transfers.

When you log into a computer on campus, you have one hour, but the hour can reset so long as no one else needs a computer. (This is in the PCL).

In the FAC, I haven’t seen a timer count down if you go to their computer labs (3rd floor).

You are not denied access to these websites, no, but nothing can be saved on the computer. You’ll need to bring a flash drive with you because while the download will save on the hard drive, files are automatically deleted as soon as you log out.

Thought i should also add, damn seawee you are a cheap ■■■■. If you use the computers to continuously download as a way to avoid paying for internet, just remember: you are logged into your account everytime. they know it’s you

first of all, thank you guys for the reply :)

haha i guess i’ll not download in the library then :P

Maybe you can ask your neighbors/ dorm mate around if they have a router so you can split the internet bill with them.

^ Which is against the terms of use :P

^ which is a great way to save money AND to know your neighbors in a condo or apartment. :)

As long as Time Warner doesn’t see me with a router, I will be fine.

@Xtra, I’m pretty sure it’s not against the rules for Time Warner Cable, just when you live on UT campus

oh really, that will be good.
