Basically I might be getting 3 Bs this semester and it's making me so depressed. I'm on the borderline for all three classes and ugh, I don't know what I can do at this point.

I'm so scared because now it might mean I won't be able to get into some of my dream schools (Brown, Tufts, Northwestern, Georgetown).

How bad will this all affect my chances -.-

You're fine. B's are okay. Junior year is busy, and classes like AP Chemistry aren't necessarily easy. If you can get any extra credit, of course that will help, but I won't worry so much about a few B's.

How bad will this affect your chances? I mean, it's just a few B's! I got B's too, you know. A lot of people get B's. Your chances will go down. I think that's obvious. But it's not going to go down significantly whatsoever, and grades aren't the only thing that matters in college admissions. Just do your best and try not to worry about it. I know that after getting so many A's it becomes alarming, but you are taking a lot of advanced classes, which shows that you are challenging yourself. I honestly don't think you need to worry.

Just try to enjoy the rest of your junior year.

Bear in mind that your first semester grades senior year will be looked at by admissions. Regroup and focus on doing the best you can next year. I agree with the previous poster that a few B+s aren't the end of the world. Best of luck.

Junior year is busier--and harder! There are plenty of students who get straight A's as freshman and sophmores and end up with a few B's junior year. Also, you've got B+, which is certainly better than a B- and they are in your harder classes--AP Chem is tough, and so is PreCalc. Don't worry too much. You're working hard and doing well. :) Keep in mind, as MD_Mom said, that colleges look at first semester grades senior year too--so if you keep getting A's or B+'s next year, colleges will know you're doing well.

I'm in the same situation, but it's only one class. I have an 88-89% in my english class, and I need this A to get my 4.0. It's tearing me up as well.
What I did was ask him for any extra credit I can do. Every now and then I ask him my exact grade and he works with me on it. He tells me what I can do to raise it to the point where it's practically an A.
Don't forget, if your teacher sees you working so hard for that A, and you end up with almost borderline with an 89%, they will raise it to an A.
I've heard of stories from my tutor of mine, a calculus teacher, telling me of times when she has raised student from even a 87% just from seeing their work ethic and how hard they were working for the A.
You never know.
Work your butt off and your teacher(s) will appreciate it to the point where you get an A =]
In senior year, get straight A's.

Reality check here -- many, many people get into top schools with some B's on their transcript. Just calm down and continue to do your best. That's all you can do. You WILL get accepted to a good school.

Greens: I wish my teachers were like that...but they're not. They specifically told me they weren't going to give me extra credit if it would mean my grade would be bumped up. They said the extra credit is there to "solidify your existing grade"...so yea. Poop.

Well..if there's absolutely no possibility, then I guess you will just have to live with a B. It's really not that big of a deal. So don't stress out over a little problem.
