I can’t decide which one to choose. I have been accepted to both the universities for this coming Fall intake. I’m an international transfer student planning to major in Actuarial Science. I heard the co-op program in Waterloo is good but they did not accept most of my credits so it would take me a longer time to graduate compared to Drake.
Any advice on which university is better? I only have a few days till the enrolment deadline and I still cannot decide.
I’d go with Waterloo. Canada is more international -student friendly (no hassle with work visa afterwards, 2years from graduation to permanent residency) and the Co OP at Waterloo is terrific.
Drake is an excellent college in a nice college town, if you went for other subjects I think it’d be better and the experience certainly would be, but I don’t think it’d have the same outcomes as Waterloo.
Never heard of Drake so I had to look it up. Waterloo is very well known, especially in STEM. I’d definitely go with Waterloo.
Drake is a very good school. Guessing bouders doesn’t live in the Midwest and doesn’t read rankings.
However foe actuarial science Waterloo is the better choice here.
Oh, I read rankings - and have quite a few memorized. I used to teach high school one state over from where Drake is, but none of my students ever aspired to go there. There are some midwest schools I know quite a bit about.
