<p>So I got a college professor to read my essay and he said that is was overly dramatic... is this a bad thing? I thought that it allowed me to hook the reader on and keep him/her reading... any opinions?</p>
<p>It depends. In what sense of the word? Like a sob story or overly emotional/sentimental/introspective?</p>
<p>I think it is overly emotional (not too sure what a sob story is lol. The topic of my essay is helping out orphans in Pakistan). I use a lot of rhetoric, but I am not sure if this helps me (by keeping the reader interested) or is too much. If you want to see my piece, I can PM it to you
