Florida State University is my dream school. My mother attended there in her college years and I would like to also. The FSU atmosphere is perfect for me and I would really like to go. I am a junior in high school, and I was wondering what the university is looking for and ways to better my chances.

Well, FSU looks for a well-rounded student. If you have an academic profile that consists of high standardized test scored, a good GPA, and a strong academic curriculum, coupled with good extra curricular activities and volunteer activities, you have a good shot.

However, the second semester of your Junior year of high school is a bit late to be worrying about how to better your chances to get into a college- any college. You literally will have one, maybe two semesters worth of grades added to your transcripts that are used to consider your admission application.

If you haven’t taken an AP class, or the SAT/ACT, or your GPA isn’t good (at least a 3.0 unweighted), you really aren’t going to be able to drastically change your application for the better.

Thank You for your help! I really just needed to know where I stand. Now, I think I will be okay and do as much as I can in order to make it to FSU.
