Your NYU Decision!

I opened it

We have just completed our review of your application and I must inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to the College of Arts and Science.

Started crying
called my best friend

talking to him
read However, I am delighted to tell you that your application has been selected for NYU's Liberal Studies Program (formerly known as the General Studies Program, or GSP). Congratulations on your selection!

JUMPED UPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!
=DDDD

Then read
You may select Liberal Studies in either Florence, London, or Paris for your freshman year. The choice is yours, and your offer of admission will be site-specific. Regardless of which site you choose to begin your studies, your sophomore year will be spent at our New York City campus.

Got all sad again =(!!!!!!!! Cuz my parents are against NYC, they'll never let me go to Paris or London or Florence.

Then went online to read up about this

read this
NOTE: Liberal Studies students who wish to enroll in the freshman program at a global site must be eighteen years of age on or before the date of their travel to the site for the purposes of study.

Got confused
Called Admissions Office
Told them i wasn't 18. And wouldnt be 18 till October
Lady at office (Lindsey...bless her) said Oh sorry thats our mistake. You will be able to accept the New York City site now! Im sending you a link

drops on floor! Cries from joy!

Opens link
enters details

Congratulations!
We have recorded your request to receive an offer of admission to the Liberal Studies Program.

IM IN NYU!!!!! OMG!! OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!!

Just one question, do all LSP students spend their frosh year abroad?

Congratulations. And … nice “play by play”

Congratulations!..I can’t help but to feel ur ecstasy…bet it that ur essay got u in

Congrats sherryy!!! Glad to hear such good news!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!!! =DDDD
Ohboi,
i dont think so…maybe its only international students …US residents have the NYC choice…and they wrote everywhere that study abroad is HIGHLY recommended…and yes they did capitalize HIGHLY

mahedonist
=DDDD You have NOOO idea…a roller coaster of emotions is an understatement…i think im gonna pass out…man was not meant to experience so much =P

sherryy,
I feel so happy for you. Really congrats on joining the class of 2014 at NYU. LSP sounds really good because of the smaller classes, emphasis on good writing (even higher GPA than CAS students on average?), and the global emphasis from the get go.

Glad the emotional roller coaster ride ended positively. :)

I’m his best friend =P … i had to put up with all the
sob i didnt get in sob… OH NO WAIT ! I GOT IN !
DAMN! I cant go to NYC freshman year… and then AWESOME! I CAN! I GOT INTO NYU =p
hahahaha proud of you bro

=d!!!

Congratulations!!! :d

Wow I’m so happy for you. You deserve it and have fun at NYU!!!

I WILL!!! =DDDD Hope to see you all there next year too! =D

can i just say reading this made my day! though i didnt go through all the ups and downs you did, i was totally freaking out when I found i got into LSP too!! soo CONGRATS!!! WOOHOO!!

That’s exciting! Congrats!

I haven’t recieved an admissions decision yet, but LSP students have the option to spend freshman year abroad? I kinda hope I get that chance instead! :p

Congratulations, sherryy, thats great news.

I just have a quick question about your situation. When you called the admissions office to tell them that you weren’t 18, and they gave you NYC as a choice, did they withdraw Florence, London, and Paris as potential sites for you?

I got into LSP yesterday, with the three European cities as choices. I’ll be 18 by the time of travel, but a friend of mine who is hoping to get LSP and go to Europe freshman year won’t be.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you everybody! =D
And Will,
they didn’t actually withdraw the offer. The lady gave emailed a seperate link to me. saying you’ll absolutely be able to select the NYC site now. And thats what i was hoping for so i didnt question it further =P
But could anyone tell me how they classify the students to whom the offer the global sites and to whom they don’t?

Thank you everyone!! =D

And will,
im not sure your friend will be able to go to the global sites if she’s not 18…assuming its a she =P
but yeah…I dont know…call the office… they’ll tell you for sure.

sherryy – I loved your descriptive original post. You remind me of my own daughter, she is also very prone to emotional highs and lows.

See you there!!! :d

Hahahahaha!
Pea…I’m a guy! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA but thank you…? =P
