Dress at Duke

Ok, so this is a little irrelevant, but I'm a person who loves to "dress up" on any occasion... this meaning I usually don't wear jeans and a hoodie (although occasionally) but I usually wear heels/nice pants/boots/leggings/sweater dresses, etc. to class. Will I "stick out?" or is it not uncommon? I'm just deciding how to update my wardrobe for the next year. Thanks!

Oh no, for the most part I'm just like you, and so are MANY other girls. I mean, You can literally find everything. There are the tshirt/hoodie girls. There are the preppy girls. Then there are people who dress like you and I. I mean, I religiously wear my leggings, red flats pointy toe flats, and sweater dresses...lol. Wear what you want and what you're most comfortable and confident in, because you can find anything at Duke:)

haha loveduke22, it seems we have the same style! today i wore this navy sweater dress with leggings and and matching navy flats.

Yess I wore black leggings with a gray sweater dress and, duh, the red flats:) Sweet life. We're like, the same person!

does anyone else find this thread really funny? :-)

hey...we're girls...clothes are important to us:p

I can honestly say I have no idea what any of those clothign items you two discussed are (besides t-shirt and hoodie)

Either it's a girl thing...or I'm clueless.

Yea I mean, what the hell are sweater dresses...

no don't worry. i subscribe to vogue, instyle, allure, and elle... so this is how i know all this. but don't worry, i aso read time, newsweek and reader's digest

a sweater dress is a really long tunic. It's just basically an elongated sweater worn with a belt

wow that's a lot of mags...

haha, twinkletoes23, we're like the same person...I get almost the same mags as you, but I get Cosmo instead of Elle, and The New Yorker instead of Reader's Digest.

haha, well cosmo is on a... different dimension

ha...to each her own :)
