Dress Codes

<p>Can someone describe the dress codes of the following schools for me? Thank you!</p>

<p>Millbrook
Hotchkiss
Andover
St. Paul
Cambridge School of Weston
The Hill School</p>

<p>Andover is casual. I doubt you can wear ripped pants and all, though. Check out BSR. For this, it is pretty accurate. </p>

<p>I will give you a guide though. Casual is normal clothes, just not ripped, beaten down, or highly revealing… Like the stuff you would find in a Gap, maybe. Idk. </p>

<p>Formal generally means you wear a tie with a shirt or under a sweater, usually not a sportcoat/blazer etc.</p>

<p>For all schools you should take a few highly formal clothes, as most schools hold “formal dinners” and such.</p>

<p>Hotchkiss is in the middle. I’m a girl so I only really have experience with the girl dress code. They say formal, but most of the girls where shortish dresses or skirts with polos or a dress shirt. Of course, no patch pocket pants and no flip-flops, though people do wear the latter.</p>

<p>St. Paul’s varies the dress code from classes to special occasions to other times. Generally, it is like college, relaxed with flip flops well beyond what temperatures might dictate. But go to our thread and ask a student. There is a fair degree of flexibility, but for classes they give the following do’s and don’t’s:
Meets Dress Code
• Tucked-in dress shirts (with or without a jacket), collared
shirts, sweaters, and turtlenecks; neckties are optional
• Dresses, blouses, tucked-in dress shirts, collared shirts,
turtlenecks, tailored T-shirts, and sweaters
• Dress pants, trousers/slacks, khakis, corduroys, cargo
pants, and shorts
• Sneakers, shoes, sandals
Does not Meet Dress Code
• Clothing that is not neat and in good repair
• Athletic wear (excluding footwear) including sweatpants,
sweatshirts, and warm-ups
• Athletic/unisex T-shirts and other collarless shirts
• Spaghetti-strapped tank tops, tube tops, cropped tops,
halter tops (or anything revealing the midriff area)
• Mini skirts (of a length higher than mid-thigh)
• Blue denim, painter’s pants, army fatigues, or bib overalls
• Head coverings of any type (except for that dictated by
religious observance or worn as a decorative garment)
worn in School buildings under any circumstance</p>

<p>Outside of class they want students “to dress respectfully,
sensibly, and appropriately at all times. Sweaty athletic wear,
swimwear, pajamas, and boxer shorts are inappropriate.”</p>
