haha, my drivers test the written part was insanely easy. i got a 98 percent on it. but then the incars were HELL. i had this sixty year old senile man talk about vietnam and curse me when i coudltn do maneuverability (its basically parallel parking but you have two cones 9 feet or so apart and then one cone in the middle and you have to drive and take a left/right turn and reverse back out straight). so i didnt learn anything in incars.. and i was screwed for my road test. i passed manueverability barely, but my points added up so i failed my road test the first time. actually i scheduled it once, one of my car lights didnt work, waited a week then went and failed my road test. then i scheduled it again, but i didnt have this sticker on my license plate, so i had to reschedule it. then i went and i passed road test but i didnt have my social security card. so i passed but i didnt have my license, and lost the papers and then randomly my school found them and i had to get my license. (i coudlnt even get my temps (learners permit.. its what us ohioans call it) until i got my passport since i was born in another country). basically, dont let that happen to you. i had to go back to the drivers test place 7 times, reschedule it quite a few times. but yeah it was worth it in the end. btw, for ohio you can take drivers ed at 15 and 5 months. you get your temps at 15 and a half, and then you can get your license after 6 months. i ended up getting mine a tad bit late... (go figure).

i hate how you had to schedule your test at the DMV's office (or at another dealer). they should have online or over the phone registrations. the line was always long, even if you were there at 8AM

we can schedule our test through mail which is what i did.

I passed the first time miraculously though. We have to do the written which I did fine on and then we have our on the road test. THe lady who came with me was really scary and I was so nervous. On the first street I was driving too slow (28 on a 35 mph road) Then we turned on this really busy multi-lane street & she wanted me to turn left at the next stoplight. Well, I had to cross 3 really busy lanes in a really short distance & needless to say I almost hit this big van. When we got back to dmv i had to back up into a space which i did semi crappy on but straightened it out the 2nd time. Anyhow, i thought for sure i had failed but she sat there for like an hour staring at the paper and then checked off passed! I was estatic. anyhow, yeah, that's my story

I'm gonna get my permit soon... Problem is, I look MUCH younger than 16 (like 13), so I just hope cops don't stop me because they think a preteen is driving...

^ if i were a cop, i would pull you over. But way to bring back a thread thats been dead for a year and a half

if i were a cop, i would pull you over.
Why? Is it because you are an A hole? Its not like you can help it beeing a late bloomer

Look at Andy Milonkais...

ha i had no idea this thread was a million years old

I passed, but I shouldn't have!
I didn't have to do a 3 pt turn at all, and I almost hit this kid that was attempting to cross in a crosswalk.

The written test was insanely easy though...100%!

did u hear about the new lexus car that parallel parks itself?? lol it would be cool if this car was used during the road test to parallel park

I failed my permit test in june. That day I was planning to break up with my boyfriend and I was leaving for France by myself the next day soo i was hella stressed.
But in california you have to wait 1 YEAR before you can drive people around. Its the dumbest law. Hardly any of my friends have had their lisence for a year. I hate it!

i had the last tester of the day too. all he did was check his watch and complain about how embarassing it was to be in my "outrageously girly car" (vw bug). i passed but i bet he deducted me for my car. it was pretty funny, plus i knew he wouldn't fail be because that's more paperwork and he wanted to go home.

the california process is super easy-

take drivers ed and sign up for behind the wheel training- when you complete those 2 things and turn 15 1/2 you can go to the dmv (making appointments online is quite easy) and take the written test

then you do 6 hours of drivers training, and hten when you turn 16 and have had your license for 6 months you take the driving test, which is super easy. right turn, left turn, change lanes, back up in a [quasi] straight line. no parking at all. dont have to renew my license for like.. 4 years a i think?

the worst thing about california is defnitely the 1 year without passengers under the age of 25. i've had my license 6 months now. i drive my friends all the time and haven't gotten in trouble because you have to be doing something wrong for the cops to pull you over..
