i have a car and i am planning to commute to school everyday next year. my question is, does anyone know if there is anywhere to park on the streets near nyu or is there always traffic and no parking??? im in queens and if i cant park by school, i guess i will have to take the train.

i live in queens too, but i will be dorming. taking trains everyday will be a hassle.

Wow, you will spend a ton of money on tolls and parking, no? You may not get to class on time because of looking for parking space. Or having to walk a lot from where you parked. Isn't train a better option from Queens?

There are parking lots nearby that have discounts for NYU students. It will probably be difficult to find a free parking spot, but possible. One of my profs lives out in Long Island and he always drove in, but he taught a 9:30am class and had to feed the meter right after our class ended. Just make sure to allow for the time spent...

It would not be a wise decision to plan to drive into the city everyday and find street parking. Traffic into the city is horrendous, traffic IN the city is bad, and parking (especially street parking) is very, very difficult to find, even the occasional time, let alone on a daily basis. If you were going to find a lot to park in, count on spending hundreds of dollars a month on parking. It's just not practical. Take the train.

The train for sure. Cheaper and far less stress.

I think the hassle of taking the train isn't half as annoying as driving a car into the city. Take the train. You can eat breakfast in it and everything.
