Can freshmen drive at Oberlin? Just not sure...

Yup. There are no class year/age restrictions regarding driving/parking on campus. You just have to register your car and get a $70 parking permit or something like that.

If you're thinking about bringing a car, just letting you know that you don't really need it for campus itself. The only reason would be to get out of Oberlin.

yeah i know its really small and i like that its just for travel home cuz it would be way cheaper and a friend and i are both going there so its more for travel home cuz in the long run it will save money. thanks a lot though. how do I go about getting that permit, just orientation week or somethin?

you just go to the safety and security office as soon as you get there and fill out a form and give cash/check and then you get a lovely sticker to put on your rear view mirror.

and i find that most people who have cars use them to get to/from home. it's also useful if you ever find yourself doing service/volunteer work off-campus

thats awesome thanks so much
