Drop an AP class... for another AP class?

I have to tell my GC tomorrow if I decide to drop AP Euro for AP Human Geo tomorrow. The class seems like it will be difficult, plus I have a lot of friends in the Human Geo. class, and it is my senoir year. I am taking 4 others APs, and Japanese VI Honors, took four APs last year, and took 2 other APs last semster (I will have 12 APs by graduation either way, plus a lot of honors courses and a CC [non dual credit] course.) Also, I took the Human Geo. exam last year and get a five. I really just don't want to be in Euro for personal and scholastic reasons, but how will this look for colleges? Will it be that big of a deal? Or can I enjoy my senoir year just a bit?

If you already took the AP Human Geography exam and made a 5, why would you take the class now? Drop AP Euro if you need to, but find a different class to take that won't be a waste of your time.

Ya...even if you're getting AP points, take something fun!

AP Human is pretty much the only class I can drop into, plus I don't want my rank to drop and I would get to be with a lot of my friends.

Anyone else?

senior year = fun
do whatever. :D

bump.............

i think it'll be fine. you can always take euro in college, and this way you'll have an easy class to look forward to every day. it's not like you're dropping euro for a free period.

you probably won't learn a whole lot seeing you already aced the exam...seems pointless

I think it will look pretty stupid if you take a class when you know everything that will be taught.

if you can cover up the fact that you already took the exam and got a 5 go for it. but if colleges find out (say your counselor mentions it on the midyear report) you will look like an absolute fool.

Unless you really, outstandingly love Human Geography and want to study it past the set curriculum or further your knowledge of all that is Human Geography-like...

... but if not, then don't. :)

wolf:

this is a better question for the colleges you applied to. Other than Lit, Euro Hist is considered the most difficult humanities AP, and is highly thought of by admissions. H Geog is a so-called AP Lite.
