I'm taking calc2 right now, and so far I'm not doing too good. I got a low C on the first exam and probably a D on the second one. Should I drop the class?
I would have to work extremely hard for the rest of the semester to get a B in class. (Now, is that even possible?)
I'm a pre-dental, so it is not required for my major or anything. (Harvard is the only dental school that requires calc2)
I took it just because I like math and did super well in calc1.

If you’re doing bad and you can still drop your class without a penalty, go ahead. Gear up to take it next semester if you’re ready for it. I took it as a summer class with a weak Calc I background and did better in that class than I did in Calc I. Did even better in Calc III. I’d suggest some self-studying before you attempt the class and if you have some old exams that were returned to you then you should do them over. I took Calc II as a summer class and when there are 34-45 problems on each test on material you only had two days to learn they’re not always quick computations it can become pretty daunting.

Just devote a lot more time to studying. Getting a good grade in Calc I isn’t necessarily an indication of how you’ll do in Calc II. It’s usually a weed out course.
