Dropping a class after 1st semester?

Ok so I'm currently in Newspaper right now and it really didn't turn out to be what I thought it would.

I complete all the interviews and all drafts yet I still have a B. Yeah, I know what you guys are going to say..."A B!....Please, go get a life..."

But it's not just that. Whenever I have a pretty good suggestion I tell my teacher or the editors and no one gives a crap. I request to do stories on certain topics or an editorial on something, but once again no one cares. Then, this is what really ****es me off, my teacher gives something that I thought up of and stories that I requested to other people.

It ****es me off. I do all the work and all I have to show for it is nothing. I feel so left out of the whole process...

Me: "Maybe we should try and add a profile about ______, since he did so and so"

Editor: "Yeah, maybe....[walks off]"
Teacher: "Umm...I'll think about it..."

Did they tell me anything later on? No.

So, if I switch to a new class in 2nd semester will that look bad on my transcript?

Could'nt tell from what you said but is a year long course or what because I think i could help you
First Suggestion-set up a talk with your teacher outside class to discuss the problem-maybe that will lead to a solution

Yeah...it is a year long course...we just work on the actual Newspaper issues.

I think the best solution is first to talk to your teacher and If he still is a jerk just drop the class-I don't know what college you want but since the drop is not due to academic inability it should be excused. In interview if it is brought up just say the course was not what you expected and wanted something that better filled your intrests If you can try to replace it with a term/year course that intrests you to make up for a drop-perhaps something challenging. Also, at my school if you dropped a course there is a way to get it removed from your transcript if you have a good excuse or you dropped a course not based on Academic inability-find out if that exists at your high school
Anway you should not worry about a B-think of it this way C is an average grade so a B is above average
Hope this helps you

Thanks for the response...I'll definitely do that...

ANyone else? PLease

Definitely talk to your teacher first.

since it's not considered an academic class by colleges, dropping won't matter (as long as you still have 5 academic solids).
