I've been accepted into my transfer school, and will be attending this Winter. On my application they asked me to write the classes I thought I would be attending before attending their school. I put down 5 classes for 13 Units.

I'm accepted and paid my $100 fee to hold a spot. I'm doing my semester, but I really dont like my economics class so I'd like to drop it. That would bring me down to 10 units.

Could their be any bad repercussions because of this?

Nah I had the minimum to get accepted as a transfer with 30 semester units. They never said anything about me having to complete those units. I just want to play it safe

Perhaps you should let them know you dropped the class, but I can’t see why it would be a problem since it’s not a required class and you don’t need the credits to qualify for transfer.

You should definitely check with the transfer school. At most colleges, anything below 12 units is not considered a full load, so that possibly could jeopardize your acceptance. Also, why don’t you just take another class to replace Econ??

I would ask before you drop it. The last thing a college wants to see is your effort dwindling after you get accepted, and they may consider it just that-- particularly since 10 units isn’t even full time at most schools. It could very well be fine but a quick call or email to admissions would help you make an educated decision.
