Back in 6th grade, I took environmental science and I really liked it, so I decided to take APES my senior year, which taught me that teachers have a great influence on shaping how their students feel about a subject. See, my APES teacher made me hate enviro. with a passion and we do nothing in that class but watch the time go by. Realistically, I’m going to attend Cal Poly Pomona because of the price, the UCs are out of the question to that effect. I’m applying as a mathematics major and my EI is a 4000. My biggest fear is that Pomona will revoke my acceptance because of the dropped class. Is it worth dropping?
Check with the admissions office at Cali Poly. If it isn’t related to your major, it probably won’t be a problem. But you don’t want to take the word of strangers on this. Colleges HATE to see bait and switch on end of year transcripts, so you need to cover your bases on this.
I’ll state it a little more strongly. You are required to inform all colleges of any change in coursework. If you’re simply replacing the class, they may not have an issue. If you;re dropping without replacing, they may or may not have an issue. But it’s better to find out now and react if needed. Colleges will compare final transcripts against the application, and they generally don’t like surprises at that point.
What other science classes have you taken? Will dropping the class mean not having enough science courses?
@KKmama I’ve taken AP Physics, AP Bio., H. Biology, H Chemistry. I think I have enough years in that sense.
