Dropping an AP Class

This is my situation:
I am a sophomore in high school, and I am taking 4 Honors Classes; World History, English, Spanish 2, and Chemistry, an AP class; Art History, and Geometry. Every class other than art History I have an A or a high B in, without much effort. My Art History grade, however, is an F. I do the best that I can and have spent many nights working late, but work makes up a small portion of the grade. The tests are what matter most, and my teacher makes some of the hardest tests. The class is very ‘learn everything on your own’ and she rarely helps us. When a test comes around, I often find myself seeing terms I’ve never heard. My question is, should I switch classes? I have a hard time seeing myself getting a good grade. I would be happily surprised if I ended up with a C. Furthermore, should I take many AP classes next year? I’ve heard many say Art History is one of the hardest. Is AP usually much harder than Honors?
Thank you in advance,
Gabe

If you feel like you cannot do well in your AP class by any means than I do recommend dropping the class but continue to study for the test with a prep book. Colleges will like that you were still committed enough to take the test and self study yourself to a passing grade (assuming that you’ll pass if you study with a prep book). For junior year you should continue to take AP classes and take more than just one.
