Dropping an AP course senior year?

Hi guys,

I am currently enrolled in five AP courses, and I think I am going to drop AP Psychology and replace it with an independent study journalism course because the course load is killing me ( I also intern for a communications office from 2-4 during the week and take an extra credit class every morning at 6 am).

I am worried as to how this will appear to college admissions; will it have an affect on their decision? To give you an idea of the school's I'm applying to, my top choices are Newhouse at Syracuse U, Boston U, U of Texas and Bates College.

It may. If you have already submitted application, you may need to talk to the admission office about this. If you have not, you would be fine as you can change that on the application. Course rigorous and sometimes even a specific course could be one of the considering factors for admission.
