Hi I was wondering if dropping a class that I do not need for my major or IGETC after I am admitted would affect my admission to UCSD/UCB/UCLA? I have 64 units without the class. Would they rescind my admission if I drop it, or should I be fine?

+1 same situation except I could not ADD the class because it was full Anyone know?

let them know NOW!!!

sorry for all the exclamation points. but if you drop a class or are even thinking about it contact admissions NOW.

If the class is absolutely unnecessary, I think you guys are gonna be fine as long as you do great jobs in the other classes. Especially if you have 64 units. It’s not gonna be a big problem. But ya… tell them now, asap!

since most of the admission process has finished, there isn’t much difference whether you tell them now or not.
the thing is that after you’ve been admitted, they are willing to solve any problem with you rather than just turn the application down. there is huge gap btw a student and an applicant…

so do you think I should wait 10 days and then notify Cal? or should I fax them it now?

i’ll let them know after 4/31… besides you’ll be fine for sure

are you sure I won’t get rescinded if I do that? heh

yeah. that’s what happened to me last year kk

thanks, are you in berkeley now?

nope. i’m in la

oh that’s nice…but ohw sure are you that I won’t get rescinded…I mean I honestly don’t see it as important at all hehe

hello last year when i was accepted to berkeley i dropped my calc 2 during spring and they didnt rescind after i notified them (i waited till i got admitted to notify them about it tho, and i had a W from it too) i also notified UCI since i was debating between cal and uci and uci didnt rescind either… it was a pre-req for my major… so i highly doubt they’d drop you for non major non igetc class… but idk i’d wait till getting accepted to notify them

im curious, what was your major? if it was impacted then they might have considered it

if its not necessary or integral for the major then it shouldn’t be a problem

Yeah I dropped a class in the spring prior to transferring and it wasn’t a problem. It was just a random elective and I notified them before decisions came out.

So i am hoping u guys can help me out, as i have a major dilemna.

I applied for fall 09, and have already got into UCI,UCSB, and UCSD. currently waiting on UCLA and Cal.

Here is my problem. I have all my prereqs done, so they are no an issue. Howver On my application i stated i would have IGETC done by end of Spring 09, prior to transfer. However in my last IGETC class which i am taking currently, which is an enlgish class, i am struggling a lot with it, and fear about getting lower than a C.

So what should i do? Should I drop the class? If so can i retake it during summer, if that is allowed?

Or should i continue with the class, do as good as i can, and hope my admissions dont get recinded?

THANKSSSSSS!!!

sack up dude. what kind of english class could you possibly have at a community college that is too hard to get at least a C in.

Hey disengage, what is your major?
