Dropping class after being admitted

lol thanks BoryaF, yeah maybe i should man up a little, its only cc after all

I am having a bad time in my English class right now too. :frowning:
Let’s hang in there together.

In a similar dilemma as vazman, except for me it’s Physics. The deadline to drop a class with a W is coming up fast, so I have to make a decision very, very soon.

A Physical science course is the only thing I need to be IGETC certified. Should I take the W, or try to scrape by with a C?

I’m kinda in the same situation too. So far, I got admitted to UCSC as an Electrical Engineering major and I’ve finished all the foundation classes (prereqs). I’m still waiting on UCSD and UCI. On my application, I indicated that i would take two classes in the intercession (statistics and music appreciation) and two classes in the summer (US history - first half and geography).

Will it affect my admissions if I decide not to take them or if I take something else (like tennis or golf)? Would I have to report it? I just know that they ask for transcripts by mid-summer (July). After this semester I will have 74 units, and I know that I can only transfer 70 of those units.

I forgot which UC was that, but I read a note on one of the UC websites.
it says that they would like us to notify them FIRST before we drop a class, so possible suggestions can be made.

Do not drop that IGETC class.

All of you who are already accepted to UCs for fall '09, how many classes are you currently taking as of this spring? I’m so scared I’m going to get rescinded. I told UCI I was going to take 4 courses, but I dropped two of them (which both weren’t igetc classes) and am now only taking bio and stats. Will I get rescinded??

I’m kind of in the same situation. When we had our transfer update that was due at the end of January, I had put down that I was going to take some science classes, because back then I wasn’t sure if I was going to switch my major to bio or not. Eventually I decided not to, so I picked classes that satisfied my major’s prereq instead. I just emailed them and they haven’t mentioned anything about it affecting my admissions status, but I will call them tomorrow to make sure.

I’m currently taking 19 units! [: (Wayy over my 60 max because of AP credit. [:)

i’m dropping english 5 because my professor is HORRIBLE; i mean we had it out via email; I reported her to the dean.

i’m going to take it over the summer; I didn’t really do IGETC, so I should be fine as I think I meet the L&S requirements. UCSC and UCDavis both said I’m fine. Not sure about Cal, but i’ll cross that bridge if I get in.

pivitplex and xyourstruly: i couldn’t add a physics class [prereq for my bio major] and i called UCSD today to see if that’s okay. they said as long as i meet all the minimum requirements [2.0 gpa, 90 quarter units, etc] its fine. i know its not UCI but i think it should be okay for other UC’s too
