Dropping Honors phyics

Hey guys! So I didn't do well in my honors physics class last semester and now I want to drop it. The only alternative is to pick up the expository writing class. That means, I will end up with 4.5 science creds and 4.5 english creds at the end of the year.

My sciences are doubled up this year with AP bio and physics. What will my colleges think of this decision? Will it affect their decision a lot? Also, will I need to let them know?

Let me know soon! Thanks

seriously guys?! someone respond!

Do you plan to take physics in college? Many college physics courses recommend high school physics as a prerequisite.

Many colleges request or require you to notify them if you change your planned senior schedule. You can call each and ask. As to how much it will affect you, or how it will affect you, only the adcoms can give a real answer and they aren’t talking. You’ll see when you see.

When my son wanted to drop AP stats in the middle of senior year he called the colleges and asked about it. He was told by one which had already accepted him that it would be viewed very negatively, and they reminded him that his acceptance was conditioned on completing the courses he had listed in his application. He stayed in the class, so we don’t know if there would have been consequences, but he wasn’t comfortable finding out.

Yes, my D2’s college counselor just advised her against dropping an advanced PAINTING class, for crying out loud, because she would have to notify the colleges and explain why she dropped it. She had already taken the class once, and decided she would rather have a study hall (doesn’t have one now). The college counselor advised against it, so she is sticking with painting.

thanks everyone. This isn’t an AP class and I am already doubled up in sciences this year. Would that make a difference? My main schools I’d like to go to are: Uni of washington at seattle, u wisc at madison, and macalester.

Well… our HS guidance counselor who said not to drop art used to be an ad-com at Macalester. For what it is worth…
