Dropping multiple unnecessary classes

Basically I have to move back to California sooner than expected, so I cant finish the semester at my community college. All of the courses I’m taking right now are not necessary for my major or IGETC. I got accepted to CPP and plan to call and ask but I wanted some other opinions. I want to drop two of my classes (Physics and Organic Chemistry, both not needed for my major). I also want to drop a 2 unit stress management class that I took to reach 12 units but I don’t know if it will look even worse to drop 3 as opposed to just 2. That one is online so I don’t technically have to drop it, but my final grade is going to be a B so I might as well just drop it too. I still have over 60 units even if I drop these classes and they’re not major related, so I’m not sure if CPP will care. I already finished an 8 week course, so I’ll still have 3 credits for this semester.

" That one is online so I don’t technically have to drop it, but my final grade is going to be a B so I might as well just drop it too. " Since it is online, you might want to stick with this class.

As you suggested, you need to call CPP and ask. But you should also discuss your plans with an advisor at your current CC - if you are on financial aid, future aid might be suspended if you do not make good academic progress this semester. And you might have to pay the money back.

@CheddarcheeseMN so I spoke to someone at CPP and she said it should be fine as long as they are not major related, golden 4 related, or would drop me below 60 units. She said she can’t make a guarantee but she’s very sure it should be fine. Thoughts?

@CheddarcheeseMN also, would suspended financial aid only apply to the CC I’m currently at or would it follow to CPP?

You might not get financial aid at the next school if you failed to make academic progress this semester. If you are on financial aid, there are consequences of dropping your classes.
