dropping physics this week

pros:
-don't need to get a grade with the intense pre-meds (6a,6b,6c sophomore year consecutively)
-is it true that if i were to take physics 6c in the fall, i would have an easier time getting a better grade? less of those smart kids there as they are usually taking it now?

con:
-dropping it last minute...there'll be a W on my transcript. it's my first w by the way.

*What is usually the avg grade curved to in physics 6c? what is the chance that i'll do better fall quarter?

now i'm below average. but not by a whole lot...

not necessarily. yes, the “main” group of people who take it “on schedule” will have passed, but it’s the 6 series, so there are still going to be premeds galore. some may have started the series later. some may have skipped a quarter instead of taking them consecutively. some might not have been able to enroll in time. and then you’ll also have people repeating, so they would be familiar with the material already. so the people who take it in the fall arent dumber, just probably got screwed in scheduling somewhere along the way.

honestly, i dont think a W will matter. there are many reasons to drop a class…if you start having too many then of course things will change, but one is just whatever.

and yea, competition doesnt change much out of series.

i thought you needed permission from the professor to drop. my friend tried to drop cs 31 last quarter right before the final (she didn’t do any projects or take the midterm), the professor didn’t let her, and she failed.

you do need the prof’s signature to drop now.
