Hi. I am a freshman at community college, planning to transfer to a UC school that I already got accepted to in High School. Sucks right? Economy's terrible.

Anyway, I am majoring in business and am currently taking Calc I, but am failing. My grade is seriously bad, and I dont want it to mess up my GPA and hurt my chances at transferring later on.

I'm not even entirely sure Calculus is required for Business Major, but
If I drop with a W, will I still be affected negatively?

This will be my first W.

Generally speaking, a W is better than an F. But, you need to visit the advising center at your community college and ask them very specifically about how this will affect your course of studies. Find out if you do indeed need Calculus for your major, and if so, when. Find out what their experience has been with students like you transferring to the place where you want to finish your degree. Find out where you can go for tutoring to help you get through this class (if you need it right now), or the next one you have trouble with.

im pretty sure you need at least calc 1 for business. Might want to check the school though.
