<p>Hey Guys, So i recently got into Ithaca college, and Binghamton. I hear that at Ithaca there have a good amount of student who smoke pot daily. i'm pretty sure most college it's drug culture, and i'm not so big into the drug culture more of a drinker..Do you guys feel the drug culture is easy to avoid, or will i always be surrounded with drugs in college?</p>
<p>I highly doubt there will be illegal drugs surrounding you anywhere you go.</p>
<p>Every school you go to will have pot, thats an expectation. But its easy to avoid and not get sucked into. Just because others smoke doesnt mean you have to but yes you will always be surrounded by drugs.</p>
<p>I amend my previous statement: other than at parties, I don’t think you’ll have a problem.</p>

there are some colleges where 90% of a dorm’s floor smokes weed, the RA smokes, even the head of residential housing smokes.</p>
<p>You really shouldn’t have a huge problem avoiding it. College students always end up having wild, raucous parties with plenty of liquor.</p>

<p>As someone who spends most of the year there, Ithaca as a town is very tolerant towards weed-culture, as evidenced by the countless head shops in the commons. I don’t think this culture necessarily spills over into the colleges (Cornell and IC) so you really won’t be under any pressure to smoke or anything, it’s mainly just the burn-out townies who propagate it.</p>
<p>If you want my honest opinion though, go to Binghamton. You’ll have way more fun. Trust me.</p>
<p>You’ll probably see some weed, yeah. But it’s nothing anyone’s going to push on you. You might see it at parties or smell it in the dorms, but that will be the extent of it…I don’t know why simply having weed near you would be a cause for alarm. It won’t cause you any problems, nor should you feel any pressure.</p>
<p>Other drugs, depends who you hang with. You won’t see it if you’re not into it.</p>
<p>Honestly, I’ve yet to see/smell weed on campus. 
But basically, the only “bad” drugs you’ll likely encounter are weed, cigarettes, and alcohol. Yes, you’ll be surrounded by them, but no one will force you to try some unless the person’s a tremendous ******bag. So no worries. :3</p>
