Party/Drug atmosphere?

How big is the party scene at Binghamton? What about drug use?

(I've dabbled into the marijuana use a bit).

Bump.

I'm guessing no one here is into the party scene?

Yeah, I'd also would like to know the social atmosphere of Binghamton.

At Binghamton, like most other colleges, I know there is a party/drug scene. However, I think it is a little bit "more well known" at other SUNY schools not naming any names here.

Plent of kids go out to drink. Just as much as any other school honestly. People say this school or that school is a party school. They are all the same. Sure maybe one school 50% goes and another 30%, another 70% or whatever. In the end, especially if a school is somewhat large like Bing, enough people go for you to have multiple frat parties, big groups at the few bars/clubs they've got an so on.

With regards to drugs--marijuana at least--it seems fairly common. Not like everoyne does it, but if you want to, I'm sure it's easy enough to find groups to smoke with, lol.

Ummm... yea. I mean, not everoyne gets high/drunk every night, but I'd say weekends a lot of people do.

Honestly, I don't think anyone could go wrong with any college of decent size if they wanted a social scene on the weekend. There is plent of it at all colleges troughout the US.

It's a good-sized school, so there's definitely a party scene if that's what you're into. Like CollegeKid said, plenty of people go out to drink. When I visited, pot seemed pretty common.

There's always a big group of partiers, group of weekenders, and a group of non partiers...

Bing has their fair share of each. Most freshman will go to frat parties, and some weeknights at the bars on the infamous State St aka Downtown. Plenty of places to get week-- I would say CIW/Newing smoke the most. There are people who party T-Sat and some who smoke everyday. Many party animals, plenty of potheads.. but at the same time there's straight edge people.

No worries, there's a many a ways to have a good time
