Hi! I know there was recently a thread about Du Bois and the racial composition of its residents. I am just wondering if any elucidation on that topic is possible. I'm transfering to CAS and the only decent housing availible is in Du Bois. How much of the dorm's focus is on African American Culture? As a white woman I fear I might be exlcluded or feel uncomfortable if the social life of the dorm centered around black culture. (At Colgate the parties at the Haarlem Renaissance center had a totally different guest list/music/feel than those in other dorms/frats)

Hi! I remember you posting that you were undecided btw Penn and Wes. Did you choose Penn finally? If so, congrats!

my impression from friends was that it was a very african-american-themed dorm. however, you'll find that your social life likely won't revolve much around dorms if you get involved in activities and clubs, and you'll have plenty of options all the time if you feel uncomfortable in the dorms.

if you see an asian guy at du bois in the fall, it'll be me.. haha.

i'm in the same situation as yourself, being a transfer student and all. i might end up looking for off-campus housing though.
