Hey, I was just wondering...
I'm going to take Calc 1 and 2, and Physics: Mechanics and E+M at community college.
Do I have to take the corresponding AP exams?
AP Calc BC
AP Physics C: mech and e+m

Do universities care about the AP exam, even if they know you took the class at a college?
And if I wanted to get credit, what do colleges see: the ap score or the grade in the class? These courses are UC,CSU transferable.

I'm hoping to bypass these courses in college. (I'm also going to take Calc 3)
Thanks in advance! :)

No, you don’t have to take the AP exams, too. As long as the courses you are taking will transfer to the college you want to attend (with the same amount of credit, etc.) there’s really no advantage to taking the tests too. Don’t know what the UC apps ask for…some ask that you self-report any AP scores. However, if you are a senior this year, it won’t be a factor in admissions (since you don’t get the AP scores back until way past decision dates). Your transcript (and whatever else your counselor might say) showing the dual enrollment will show that you are motivated to push yourself.

If you take the class in a college, and it’s transferable, you don’t need to take the AP exam. For all UC’s, you will get credit for the CC course.

You must report these courses on your application (when you fill out the application it will be easy to do), and you send in your transcript when you decide to attend.
