If you apply for dual enrollment, for example, Whitman/New House, is it possible that you get into one school and not the other? Or is dual enrollment accepting you to both or none at all?

Syracuse allows up to 3 choices. DD applied ED last year and is a Whitman/Newhouse dual and loves it! Her second choice was Newhouse/Arts & Sciences and third choice was Whitman. I believe you can be accepted to both or one or the other, so her second and third choices were almost redundant. You may want to double check with the Admissions Office to make sure. The three options are nice to have as DD probably would have enrolled with any of her choices. Good luck with your college plans.

Does anyone know the answer to the original question? In the reply the student was accepted to the dual program. We are trying to decide if we have the dual program Whitman/Newhouse listed, do we need to still list the two as second and third choices? Or if you will be considered for both if not accepted into the dual program. I hope that makes sense as we only have an hour left.
Thanks!
@SoBlessed15…You are fine either way. DD was told by admissions last year that by applying as a dual to Whitman/Newhouse she would be considered for each school separately as well as the dual. My daughter is glad she chose the dual major and really loves Syracuse. Good luck to you.
Also enrolling into a dual program commits you to neither. My son was admitted/enrolled in the Newhouse/Whitman dual program and dropped the Whitman side of the program the first day he got there without any issues.
You could also only apply to one school and then add a dual by simply emailing them before school starts. I orignally only wanted to be in Whitman, but after an info session, I wanted a dual degree with the iSchool, so I emailed them and added my dual major I hope this helps!
@ShiningOrange: This will not work for Newhouse. You can’t simply “add” Newhouse if you didn’t apply and were admitted at the outset. If you are not admitted to Newhouse you have to do a full year at another school at Syracuse and then based on your GPA you can add or transfer to Newhouse.
