In order to do dual majors/minors do we need to shell out more money?

No, they’re free.

Oh alright! Thanks!

Hello everybody, so I was admitted to Carnegie Mellon’s H&SS with the intention of majoring in logic and computation but I wanted to a double major in computer science. I sent an email to Dr. Harell and Dr. Devine and they confirmed I could pursue computer science as an additional major. After researching though, I discovered that the requirements for a “double major for computer science” were different from when you were in the school of computer science.
Basically, my concern is, in the professional aspect, should I transfer to scs or does it really not matter? Also, if it matters, I am thinking about pursuing a PhD in computer science.

As a current junior doing a dual degree in ECE+CS, I can say that there really isn’t much of a difference between a degree in CS and a double major in CS. There are some small things, like freshman immigration course and general education requirements, but the CS requirements you do will be the same as an SCS student. As that is the case, I highly doubt that double majoring in CS gives you a lower prospect for grad school in comparison to a single degree from SCS.

I’ve been thinking about ECE + CS too!

Ok thank you very much Anselmo! This helps clear things up for me a lot.
