DUI on a bike...

Does anybody know how often people get charged with it in Ann Arbor? I know one person that's been arrested for it (not around AA), and I was just wondering how the police usually treat the situation. Obviously if you're riding your bike putting other people in danger, you may deserve it, but I don't drink and drive in a car at all and would like it if I didn't get arrested for riding home from the bar on a bicycle.

And I'm not too sure on the details of the guy who got arrested for a dui on a bicycle (parent's friend), but I think it's pretty ri-goddamned-diculous if he wasn't posing a threat to somebody else or making a scene.

People bicycling are often pretty inconsiderate of dangers and hazards to begin with. I imagine you can get into trouble in Ann Arbor for riding a bicycle while drunk, but more likely because you’re a great hazard by the time it becomes observable.

I think you’d be OK with the police, but why would you want to ride your bike home from the bar? That just can’t be a pleasant experience.
