Jeez, that early? I mean, I got into Cornell early because of when I submitted my app, but I have heard nothing from Duke. No PIN for the D site, just the confirmation of appyling. Anyone else hear back, or just this girl?

Congrats transferkid, thats really awesome!

would you mind posting your stats?

I wasn't accepted. I was pointing out that another emmber of this board was accepted (I just copied and pasted her post).

I'm just waiting like evryone else!

has competition for duke really gone to the extreme where less than 2% are accepted?

whoops, hahaha didn't see the top part of your post...anyway anyone know what her stats are?

I got a call today. Accepted! I wonder how many students they admitted this year...

Hey nomada, what are your stats?

Well, looks like we'll all find out by the end of this week hopefully? Hey, nomada, is there a particular reason they called you? Because u were of the lucky few or did u have an extenuating circumstance? Just curious and CONGRATS!!!

So, can we call today or later?

I'll post after everyone has their decisions...or would you like PM, arpster?

how do they release decisions, by phone or by email?

Anyone else hear anything?

I called the admissions office today. Decisions are done and you can get them by phone. I was about to recieve my decision, but the person was confused at why my name was entered twice in the database. Stupid me forgot to tell her I applied last year and was waitlisted. Before I thought of saying something, she transferred me to some other transfer person. But, since this was around 4:00pm, that person was not in her office. I called back again and the first person I talked to also peaced out of the office. Oh well. There is always tommorow or Monday. Now I am anxious

Hey - I called in today and they told me I got in. It seems like they admitted fewer students than in the past, so I'm really sorry for anyone who didn't get his wishes.

I'm also in at Columbia, and haven't heard back from Penn yet. Penn was my top choice and Columbia jipped me with financial aid (20,000 a year compared to 0 that I pay currently).

May 1, 2008

Dear alpharosean:

Earlier this year we sent you a card letting you know that your application was incomplete, and indicating which parts we had not yet received. Recently we have found that your application for admission to Duke University has remained incomplete. As a result, we are assuming that you have made plans to attend another college, and we are canceling your application. You will therefore not receive a decision letter from us.

If you believe you have received this letter in error, please put your concerns in writing and fax it to the attention of Nicole McAdams at (919) 668-1661. If your college plans no longer include Duke, you do not need to reply.

We thank you for thinking of Duke, and wish you well as you pursue your educational goals.

Sincerely,

Nancy Austin

Associate Director and Coordinator of Transfer Admissions

Well, I just got this and haven't received such a card, but it's ok. Good luck everyone :)

Rejected. Expected as much. The Dean called me and said it was more of a space issue as they only had 10 spots. Jeez, I wouldn't ahve applied then if I knew that. I put deposit in for Cornell, but still haven't heard from Penn yet.
