^I think i’m also going to apply RD with International Relations as a potential major.

yeaaah HIGH FIVE!!!

sent out my ED agreement like last month!!! ive been set on this for like 3 years!
my full application was sent last week so hopefully ill get my interview!!
im thinking to double major biochemistry or just chemistry (pre-medicine requisites also)
DUKE IS AMAZING!!!

Yeah, I’ve been set on Duke for many years now. I’ve tried to not become overly attached though because its a high reach for me. I’ve been studying for the SAT next week, but it doesn’t look like I’m going to break 2100.

Yes, i visted Duke and i fell in love with it. I will also be applying ED.

i realllyyy hope i get in…neuroscience major :)

is anyone else taking the sats in november? im a little worried about scores getting in on time. the website says not to rush scores, but i emailed my regional admissions officer and he said to…anyone have any insight?

my info might be a bit dated seeing as how I did this 5 years ago. But back then my regional adcom told me that Duke gets SAT scores electronically anyway which means they see it immediately after it’s released and that rushing it is pointless since the “rush” part doesn’t include the period where your exam is being scored IIRC.

While things might have changed in the past few years (with the number of applicants steadily increasing), my inclination is that it’s probably all right to not rush. But just in case, you should call admissions and ask the people there, they are generally very responsive and knowledgeable as I’m sure they’ve answered this question hundreds of times before.

I’m applying ED :)

I’m applying Early Decision as well, but i hate abbreviating it as ED, for its ties to a certain disorder… But I’m incredibly nervous. Does anyone else see the stats of those accepted/applying and feel somewhat insignificant?

Yep, I do. Ill tell you what scares me more though - those acceptance rates from last year. Yikes.

Sent my Early Decision agreement in the mail today :)

I’ll also be EDing. along the lines of International Relations

I’ll be EDing…definitely been set on Duke for the past few years and hopefully excited to see everyone there!

Hello! I’m a RD applicant for Duke!
My cousin’s a senior @ Duke this year and she loves it
Probably will have a science major. Not set in stone, though.

anyone here applying ED who is an unhooked applicant? ie not a urm, legacy, first gen, etc? i feel like im the only one!

neuroscience and russian! : D

@pikachu

I’m white, upper-middle class, and my parents went to college.

Just sent in my app:)

Sent in the transcript earlier today.

It is definitely unsettling to see the people who got in last year! The class of 2014 profile says the average ACT is between 29-34 (This was also on my ACT score report because I sent it directly to Duke), but it seems like CC people all have 33+! Is it just me or are CC people one step up? LOL
