@Hersheybar315 I applied to trinity and did not get an interview.

If it helps to pass the time, here are some Duke Alumni artists you can take a listen to during the wait!

Applying to Trinity from Charlotte, NC!

Trinity from Florida! No interview, though.

Trinity from West Virginia

Trinity from NCSSM in Durham!

Trinity from New York

Trinity from SoCal! and no interview :(

Just curious, did everyone get the same email regarding the notification date for ED? My friend and I got the same one and couldn’t help but notice it was rather gloomy - it mentioned checking your decision away from others and such. Anyone else? I thought for sure this email meant I was getting deferred but who knows!

@cw1114 I got the same email as well! I think they send that same email to everyone, and they tell you to check away from others solely because admissions is a private affair. I wouldn’t worry about the gloominess of the email as a tell whether you get accepted, deferred, or rejected prior to the decision itself :)

Trinity from Texas!

Trinity as an expat in Beijing!

If you get deferred then accepted, it’s not binding anymore, right?

@ACT36Wannabe Right :)

Trinity from the Bay Area. Interview went very well but I don’t believe the interview carries that much weight

Another Trinity from Texas here. No interview, which was really odd considering how many alumni there are in my area from prestigious schools.

Trinity from Bay Area again. Had 1 hour interview.

So to pass the time and to alleviate the pain I’ll feel when I’m (most likely) rejected or deferred, I’m trying to figure out reasons I DON’T like Duke… and I’m stuck. HELP.

Trinity from south texas!

@dancingwriter Haha, I admittedly considered 3 other schools for ED before finally settling on Duke, so I dug up quite a few pros and cons of several schools. I try to remain as impartial as I can in case of rejection. :-S

Here’s my personal list of Duke cons, though everything on it may not necessarily be accurate since I acquired most of my information from the internet:

I’m all about city life and college campuses located in big cities. Since I’m very accustomed to metropolitan areas, Durham just doesn’t cut it for me. I’m well aware that it’s expanding rapidly though, and if I’m accepted to Duke, I’m looking forward to see how the city progresses over time. I also know that there’s plenty to do on campus already so lack of city life isn’t that much of a big deal.

Greek life and partying seem a bit too prevalent for my liking, though I know that people always say “everyone has their own niche”.

Foooooood. Although Duke might’ve ranked 9th in the nation for “Best Colleges for Food in America”, I saw plenty of commentary from current Duke students claiming otherwise. However, Durham on the other hand seems to have a surprisingly vibrant food scene.

History of bad relations between Duke/Durham. I know Duke’s been making efforts to improve relations (things like service through DukeEngage, etc.), but I honestly have no idea how things are right now.

Of course, I still love Duke. This is just my own personal list, and if I choose to, I can list many more pros. Sorry to be such a downer. :’)
